Creating columns within columns with Beaver Builder

Update:  Beaver Builder now supports columns within columns. The workarounds here are no longer needed.

The example here is putting two buttons side by side in a single column without a plugin and CSS.

Just tried out the shortcode/saved-row method – it works a treat and can be done in a snap,
thanks for making the tutorial :)

Hi Tim, sorry for the delay. I completely missed this. I must update this post as now Beaver Builder has added columns within columns. I feel really bad as you could have just dragged in a another column. So sorry!

Even with official Beaver Builder nested column support, I have still found this tip useful. You can only nest columns one level deep and this is quite limiting. Using the shortcode to place a nested layout inside another nested layout works. This is helpful when you want to control how columns stack on mobile more precisely. Typically the case in footers for me.
